Can I use my artwork or photographs for laser etching ?
Basically we can laser engrave anything on the computer screen or that is in digital format onto the wood or glass. So if you provide us with the original picture or a hi-quality digital scan and we can etch your photo onto a solid medium.

NOTE: When you supply the artwork a minimum setup fee of $20.00 will be added to your order cost.

Artwork Criteria;
Quality original art is key to a good imprint. We need the artwork you can provide, preferably in a computer file form.
Adobe illustrator, Adobe Photoshop or Corel Draw should be used to create your artwork. Other file formats may be suitable, but we have to review them first.

The better the quality of the artwork you provide, the more closely we can match your requirement. We prefer the work with good,
clean renditions of the art you want reproduced. Your artwork, in a PC format, can be sent by Email as an attachment, or by courier
or Post; a faxed copy is not acceptable. Vector art is the preferred method.

Corel Draw 11 or earlier or Adobe illustrator 9.0 or earlier.
Create outlines for all images and fonts and same as an EPS format. Corel Draw and Freehand can be saved as an illustrator file. We prefer to use vector formats of .EPS, but our system may be able to use all major bitmap formats, such as .BMP, .TIFF, .JPG and .GIF. Please send us your file(s) to review.

Please forward your artwork in PC Format as a vector based file in an .eps, .wmf, .cdr or a hi-resolution (300 or 600dpi) .tiff. Also, please keep the file size less than 350 kb in size, files greater than that will be bounced off the network server and we will not
receive your artwork.

We will not accept a rastor image or bitmap image saved as one of these file extensions. Adobe Photoshop 6.0 or earlier. Save as Photoshop file or .TIFF. Some .TIFF files may not be acceptable camara ready art. (You will be notified if artwork is not camera ready.) Formats that we can work with or convert, clean-up and or recreate from, but will incur an art preparation setup fee; min. $20.00 Photoshop 5.0 (*.psd) or earlier, Acrobat 5.0 (*.pdf), Autocad 12 (*.dxf), Microsoft Word ( *.wrd) ver. 7,6,5.

Note: We will keep your artwork on file for future orders for a period of 1 year year. It will be exclusive to your account and reproduction of the designs and logo will be upon your written consent/confirmation.

Artwork Approval and order Confirmation
A pre-production paper proof of your logo or message is Emailed (.PDF format) to you for review; and a signed confirmation approval
copy is required before we start the order/production.

Artwork via Mail
Send us your camera-ready artwork a a black and white stat, or on a CD, to our head office address. Note, we will not return your
artwork or print, if it is required for return there will be additional handling and shipping fees.

Artwork via Email
Your file(s) can be sent as an Email attachment, and almost every email program supports this function.
The best way to insure your design is replicated correctly is to also send a print-out via fax so we can check it against your electronic file.

Follow up with custom orders
Once you sent or Emailed your artwork or designs, please follow up with us to confirm that we have received your file(s). It
is possible that Email or Post documents can be lost or incorrectly sent and we have no notice of your request.

Can I make my own designs?
Sure! Anyone can make their own designs, but what works the best is Vector Graphics created in Corel Draw. If we use a scan of your artwork it creates more room for errors. So if you have a design you would like you can email it to our design team and they will contact you within 48 hours. [top of page]

What kind of woods do you use?
We mainly use Aromatic Cedar to make our boxes. But we also use Alder. Basically we can use any type of wood but hard woods work better for photographic quality. The tighter the grain the better the engraving will turn out. [top of page]

Can you engrave metals?
Yes we can engrave metals. Most of the etching we do is on to non-lacquered stainless steel, aluminum and copper metals. If you are interested please call us for details. We currently etch name drops with company logos on to stainless steel thermal coffee mugs.[top of page]

What if I am not satisfied with my order?

We stand behind the quality of every product we sell. If your order it is not 100% free from defects in materials and workmanship, you may return it in new condition and in its original packaging for a prompt exchange for the same item, or immediate full refund. Understandably, personalized items cannot be accepted for return except when there is a quality concern as mentioned above.
We understand that everyone makes mistakes (including us!). Take special care when reviewing your order. Check your spelling, dates and names carefully. In the event that you made an error and need a replacement, we do offer a 25% discount on the replacement to try to help. Of course, if we made the error, we will replace your order free of charge to you.

Refund Terms
We'll refund your online purchase within 14 days of original order invoice shipping date with valid RMA. A minimum of $15.00 or 15% of orders greater than $100.00 (restocking/handling fees) plus the freight will be deducted from the original purchase amount.

Qualified RMA Returns
Please return items that are non-engraved with text and or graphic images and is in their original condition. If the item was all orders are subject to a minimum $15.00 restocking and handling fee or 15% of orders greater than $100.00 of the product cost or administration fees (freight exempt). Shipping and any related freight charges will not be refunded, all freight charges are customers responsibility. All items purchased via the giftengraver.com must be returned directly to the original shipping warehouse from which it was purchased. Returns for refunds or credits should not be sent or brought to any retail store. Please contact us directly via email for a RMA (return merchandise authorization) number.
Please include your receipt (packing slip) and completed letter
explaining your return reason with our RMA number. Package the product in its original shipping box and clearly print or type the return address with your RMA number on the outside of package.
Refunds will not be issued until we have received the merchandise
with proper RMA.

Non-Qualified Returns
Customized (items engraved with your text and images) are
considered final sales and non-refundable. Only under certain
condition(s) we will exchange or replace product (with a similar item or of equal dollar value). If the item shows manufactured flaws with exemptions from wood color, wood grain, wood knots, and visible glue (inside edges of all cedar wood boxes). If the product has been confirmed correct (spelling & layout) by the customer, and receives product with other spelling or mechanical layout (exempt from 1/4" space variance allowance from all sides of product), only an item replacement will be shipped (frieght and handling inclusive).

Damaged or Missing Shipments
We cannot accept responsibility for damaged or lost merchandise due from courier or postal mishap or carelessness. However, if your order is insured, you may file a claim with the courier or postal service which handled your shipment. Tracking numbers can be obtained from our shipping department, please contact us for this information.

RMA - return merchandise authorization.
Refund request (RMA) from giftengraver.com are available only seven (14) days after date of purchase, void from there after. Please email rma@giftengraver.com to request your
RMA number.
